A family is more than a form.

A childcare search involves several realities: children’s ages, siblings, specific needs, places of residence and schedules. This information needs to be organized without requiring parents to reconstruct everything at each stage.

Keep the detail without complicating the journey.

The product needs to support different family situations while remaining understandable. Data structure, input steps and access to personal information therefore need to be considered together.

From a child’s profile to structured childcare needs.

  • Child profiles
  • Needs and preferences
  • Households and travel
  • Care schedules

Profiles and siblings

Organize each child’s information and preferences for childcare involving siblings.

Childcare needs

Distinguish preferences and specific needs to make the record more useful.

Households and areas

Account for multiple homes, travel and search areas adapted to family situations.

Flexible schedules

Represent full-time, part-time and atypical schedules with date windows.

Private parent workspace

Find and manage information in an authenticated workspace, with tools for reviewing and managing personal data.

Bilingual journeys

Make the same tasks available in French and English within the Quebec context.

Clarity starts with a structure that reflects real life.

The approach separates information about the child, care needs, locations and schedules, then connects them in a coherent journey. Parents can describe their situation without needing to understand the underlying data model.

The work presented

The presented project combines a bilingual interface, a parent workspace and structured family data. It shows how a custom portal can organize private information around a concrete need. CAP complements official childcare search steps and does not replace registration on the government portal.
